Another screen legend from cinema's Golden Era, Fay Wray starred in her first movie role at sixteen, in the 1923 film Gasoline Love. Despite that fabulous title, it wasn't a huge success but she eventually made it in the "talkies" and ten years later, came to play one of Hollywoods most unforgettable damsels in distress; satin-draped, screaming Ann Darrow in King Kong. I like these photos best, with her natural hair colour all set in curls and tucked neatly under a pert hat.
